The Ubangi Stomp is a band from Alicante, formed in 2016. In this decade, they have performed over 500 concerts at festivals, venues, and events of all kinds, establishing a solid, professional, and effective live show for diverse audiences. In 2016, they are celebrating their tenth anniversary on stage by presenting a new studio album.
The project stems from blues, boogie-woogie, rhythm and blues, and early rock and roll, styles they interpret with authenticity, energy, and respect for the original language of the genre, but with a fresh and contemporary attitude. Their lineup includes piano, double bass, drums, vocals, saxophone, and guitar, allowing them to offer a full, powerful, and versatile sound.
Their repertoire blends original songs with blues and rock and roll classics, including tracks by artists such as Ray Charles, Little Walter, Jerry Lee Lewis, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Little Richard, and Fats Domino, among many others. Their approach is not just to perform these songs, but to convey the original spirit of this music through a dynamic, wild, and engaging live show.
